Philip Kingsley Scalp Toner (75ml for £9, 250ml also available)
My scalp can get dry at times, so I thought "let me a get scalp toner to combat that". This is how the brand describes its product: "A mildly astringent formula, this Stimulating Scalp Toner absorbs excess oil and protects against bacterial overgrowth to keep your scalp healthy. A must-have, rehydrating toner and scalp energiser, this stimulates blood supply to the scalp to encourage a healthy scalp environment and optimum hair growth. This refreshing formula is water-based and fragrance-free, perfect for daily use to rehydrate, stimulate and soothe irritated scalps. Simply apply to damp, freshly washed hair and gently massage into the scalp". Problem is: why do you need a toner that absorbs excess oil on the scalp when you just washed your hair 10 seconds ago and the shampoo should have removed all excess oils anyway? Food for thought. This scalp toner is borderline useless. Yes, it mildly hydrates the roots, which makes it slightly easier to comb, but it also makes my hair dirtier faster. So, yeah, would not recommend it.
