Dermalogica Age Reversal Eye Complex (15ml for $80)
I know, the price sounds a bit unfriendly, but this is the US price, I bought mine for $55 in Sweden. It will last you for months, especially since it's not for daily use (I use it 3 times at week, at night). This one has retinol, and I wanted it to combat my fine lines in the eye area. I have been using it for a few months now and can safely say that it works. I can even see it when I apply my concealer -- that area has become so much smoother. I still have more than half left.
Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser (250ml)
Retailing at $39, this is wow! Simply "WwowW"! If you want to clean out your pores, or if you have oily skin, this creamy-white clay cleanser is the one for you. Your skin will get a real cool breeze on your face. This is how Dermalogica describes their product: "Deep-cleansing clay formula purifies oily skin. Water-soluble Kaolin and Green clays combine with purifying extracts of Sambucus, Ivy and Lemon to remove excess oils and refine the skin's texture. Calming Cucumber and Sage soothe, while refreshing Menthol revitalizes even the most tired skin". Pros: right now, we have drier skin, but we still like to use it in the evenings, after taking off our makeup. Cleanses pores beautifully. Cons: it is a bit expensive Would recommend? Yes, if you want to clean your skin completely!
Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair
If you need to repair your eyes, please turn to an optometrist. We apologise for the photo. We have the mini-4ml version of this cream, which normally comes in a small 15ml tube (retailing at $59). It is indeed a very rich under-eye cream. It works to "repair premature aging and damage around the delicate eye with Vitamin A, Wild Yam Extract and Pro-Vitamin B5" and helps "increase resilience and smooth skin texture with phytonutrients and botanicals of Cucumber and Arnica, as vitamins C and E plus Grape Seed Extract shield the delicate eye area against further environmental damage". Die to its rich nature, we only apply it at night. Isn't the Kiehl's avocado one $11 cheaper and basically does a very similar thing? We will finish this mini-tube, but we are unsure whether we will purchase the full size one.
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream
Please note, Dermalogica has recently improved the formulation of this cream-- so the new packaging looks slightly different. However, we are talking about the older version here. This cream is great for normal to dry skins. In fact, it is so creamy that we think that it's a very good night cream (although advertised more as a day cream). It is formulated "with soothing botanicals and vitamins that maintains skin's moisture balance, improves the structure and restores elasticity and skin tone. It is enhanced with moisture-binding hyaluronic acid, protective grape seed extract and essential oils". Again, we are interested in trying the new formula as well, as it promises even more skincare benefits. However, this is a great cream as is.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (74g)
This product comes in two sizes, the bigger one (in the picture), costs $59. Dermalogica on the product: "Rice-based powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to polish skin to perfection. A Skin Brightening Complex of Phytic Acid from Rice Bran, White Tea and Licorice helps balance uneven skin tone while a super-soothing blend of Colloidal Oatmeal and Allantoin calms skin. Gentle enough for daily use". This vegan exfoliant did not wow us to the point of no-return (yet). We are still trying to understand the product, and it is taking us some time. We can, however, absolutely say that it does help with evening out the skin tone a bit. But everything else, hmmm...
Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant (full size costs $43)
Dermalogica describes this product as follows "Lactic and Hydroxy Acid exfoliating masque for dramatic skin smoothing. Non-abrasive exfoliation treatment helps stimulate cell renewal as natural fruit enzymes detach dead skin cells to improve skin texture. Aloe Vera helps calm and soothe. Not recommended for users of medically-prescribed exfoliation products". Hmmm, maybe if you have never really exfoliated your skin before, you would be head over heels from this product. We are not. The product is definitely good, but gentle. Maybe our skin is simply used to stronger exfoliation, but with this product, we didn't see any "dramatic skin smoothing".
Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer ($49)
Have you ever wondered what Dermalogica's dud is? Well, it's right in front of you. It's this primer. The intention was good: a primer that is both hydrating and fills pores to give a smooth canvas. "Lightweight, non-greasy primer minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, mattifies against oily shine and imparts a silky, smooth finish. H2ORelease™ Complex and Abyssinian Oil help provide intense, sustained-release hydration that locks in moisture. A microencapsulated tint releases upon application to provide light, neutral coverage". If only... It makes your skin look like the Moon's craters. So much texture, and it emphasizes literally every pore. Please do not use it.
Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner (50ml for $12)
You know, it's actually a pretty hard thing to review a toner? Like, it's a toner! Unless you get some sort of an allergic reaction to it, it's pretty good. Like, you don't really know how it performs because you are putting other products on top. This is primarily a hydrating toner. It's good. If you are interested, then start with the small package.
