The Battle of Toner Titans: side by side comparison of Korea´s greatest
Today, I am reviewing two of South Korea´ s most popular toners (currently): the Round Lab Dokdo Toner and The Lab by Blanc Doux Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Toner. At the time of writing, the Dokdo Toner has a rating of 4.38/ 5.00 on the Hwahae App, while the Oligo Toner has a rating of 4.35/5.00.
Round Lab Dokdo Toner
The toner contains deep sea water from the Ulleungdo Islands, which contains a large amount of minerals. It also contains Hatching Ex-07 (Protease enzyme), an ingredient great for gentle removal of dead skin cells, while Panthenol, Allantoin and Betaine soothe tired and irritated skin. In terms of texture, it is very liquidy but has about 2procent viscosity.
Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Toner
This toner contains low molecular mass hyaluronic acid, which absorbs well into the skin. 50 percent of the content in the bottle is hyaluronic acid, while the rest are Glycerin, Betaine, Camellia Extract, Beta-Glucan, Allantoin and Panthenol. In terms of texture, it is very liquidy with a tiny hint of viscosity.
Comparison of the two
The Dokdo Toner does not have hyaluronic acid – it is basically a pure water-based toner with some additional soothing ingredients in it. Of course, the mineral rich water is beneficial for the skin, but it is nonetheless not as hydrating as the Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Toner. The Lab´ s toner feels so much more hydrating (and even cooling) on the skin – it truly is a great product if you want your skin to be “pumped” up with hyaluronic acid. Pricewise, it is also a bit more expensive than the Dokdo toner, but depending on where you buy, the price can be quite similar. Personally, if I would have to choose one over the other, I would choose the The Lab by Blanc Doux Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Toner.
