Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb (in Diamond Milk) ($18)
Do you buy a lot of lipglosses which you barely use? We literally still have a stash from the ones we bought 10 years ago and used probably only a few times. We find that buying a lipgloss is probably one of the easiest things. This colour is shimmering wash of milky pearl thats like a dewey highlight for your lips. We normally only use it as a topper, however. It is long lasting, albeit, mildly-sticky (does not bother us though). But the true question is: do you really need this gloss for $18? Our answer is probably no.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte (concealer shades Linen (left) and Porcelain (right))
Each such stick costs $25. For a concealer, it doesn't have the desired formula, but we use these sticks to mark that area between our jaw and our cheeks. And surprisingly, it works well on all the foundations we have tried. It is definitely not a product that one needs for one's survival, but we found it a use in our makeup application routine. If you are after a product that contrasts your darker contour, then you might want to look into it. Otherwise, you can just walk past.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix- Highlighter (in Starstruck)
We have gotten this in the Trio set, together with its contour and conceal sisters. Otherwise, we would never gotten it, and there is a reason why. For an "on-face" highlight, this stick is far too tough. It swatches great on the hand, but that's because the hand is a much harder surface than our cheeks. Although the colour is beautiful, due its hard texture, we have realised that it doesn't glide well on top of foundation (and in some cases may even drag foundation). So, no, we will stick with our other beloved options. However, as a body highlight, it is great!
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer ($32)
A lot of people have been raving about this primer, but we personally don't see much point in it. If you have used the FB foundation, you would know that its matte finish can be rather drying on the skin. So, as a product designed to extend the wear of that foundation, we think the primer is a bit average. First of, if you have dry skin, you would need something a lot more hydrating than a light cream primer that sinks in immediately and the skin is left almost in the same condition as without it. Plus, primers that so boldly write that it extends the wear of the foundation: hmmm...maybe you should have made the actual foundation more long-lasting instead of creating a separate product? Just a thought. Fenty claims that this primer is also pore-diffusing. Nja, not really. Not in comparison to the POREfessional. It might do that slightly. We believe that this product has been created to cash on the hype of the foundation. Buying the foundation? Oh, take the primer as well.
