Dr Dennis Gross Dark Spot Sun Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (full size 50ml for £44)

Sun protection is definitely such an important part (if not the most important part) of any skincare routine. If you are not using SPF of at least 30, go buy yourself some. We all know that sun damages our skin and is the number 1 reason for premature skin ageing. And no one wants that, right? Anyway, I never thought I would be so picky with my SPF. SPF is SPF-- that's what I thought. But no, I was wrong. Not all SPF products are created equal, and this product right here is an example of that. Apart from having the SPF, the product has an "anti-ageing filter [which] simultaneously brightens existing dark spots to restore uniformity of tone. Enriched with hydrating, skin conditioning ingredients, the lightweight, non-chalky lotion applies without a trace – creating an invisible barrier between complexion and the elements – while three forms of vitamin C and vitamin E work alongside a breakthrough, melatonin complex to exhibit a tangible anti-ageing effect" (Dr Dennis Gross). Oh, it sounds so good, doesn't it? Except, some of the claims are not true. The cream is on a thicker side (I prefer those more for my body, not my face), and it definitely leaves a white ashy trace on your beautiful face. That's just...wait for it...Gross (pun intended)! It takes a while to uniformly apply it on the face due to the white streaks that don't want to rub themselves out. When I apply some concealer on top, it sometimes goes dry-patchy (i.e. doesn't sit well underneath the makeup). So, yes, Dr Dennis, you have to up your game a bit.

Product review:

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Hydration Booster (30ml for £68)

According to the brand, this product is "enriched with moisture-attracting hyaluronic acid, replenishing evening primrose oil and nourishing coconut fruit juice, this brilliant booster instantly hydrates and plumps skin, smoothing away the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles". Although, it says serum in other places, it says booster on the bottle so I apply it during the booster stage (i.e. essence stage). The liquid is slightly blue, and is mildly oily (in a good way). It's a good product, I did like using it, but I can't justify the price when Vichy's booster or The Ordinary's Marine Hyaluronics are so much more affordable.
