Grown Alchemist Balancing Toner (200ml, around $30)
With Rose, Ginseng and Camomile. Olive and Chamomile Extracts gently tighten and smooth the skin without removing natural water-binding agents or drying the skin. Ginseng and Aloe Vera tone and soothe while Vitamin C defends against free-radical damage. Now, it's not a bad toner. It has a lot of good stuff in it. We just haven't really seen any real difference yet, but we think it's too early to say. It's definitely not a very hydrating toner, which we would have liked for our dry skin.
Grown Alchemist Colour Protect Conditioner 0.3 (200ml for $25)
For a conditioner, it is of course expensive, but when the product lives up to the expectation, it is of course an absolute joy. This is how the brand describes its product: "a gentle formulation that assists to lock in colour and shine, extending chemically-treated hair’s vibrancy, protecting it from the damaging effects of the sun, UV rays, water and environmental stresses, while detangling, adding lustre and hydrating". We have a lot of hair, like, a lot that our hairdresser charges us extra. It's not long, but it does get easily tangled, and it is difficult to comb it through after washing it, unless you put some nourishing product in. With this conditioner, you don't even need to put anything extra. It is super hydrating-- a feeling on our hair that we have not had for years (ever since switching to healthier options). We believe this conditioner will be great in the summer-- protecting our hair from UV lights. Formulated with Aspartic Amino Acid, Hydrolyzed Quinoa Protein, Ootanga.
Grown Alchemist Detox Eye Makeup Remover (50ml)
We personally don't understand why this product costs so much. For a 50ml bottle (which is half the size of the majority of eye makeup removers), you have to pay €24. Like, whyyyy? Maybe this has the elixir from the last male unicorn? (We are joking, there is more than one unicorn left, so relax, don't call PETA). Anyway, let us first investigate what the claims are. The brand says the following: "This highly effective natural, solvent-free, dual-activated formulation dissolves and removes waterproof mascara and make-up without causing dryness, while detoxing and noticeably protecting sensitive facial skin around the eyes from premature aging". Our verdict: it removes eye makeup pretty well (not like, to 100%). However, you need to use quite a bit of product, and for this price, it is simply overpriced.
Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream ($49 for 65ml)
We would say, this is a day moisturiser for normal/combination to oily skin. It will not be as moisturising and nourishing for dry skins. With a "non-greasy finish, this moisturizer is packed with Camellia and Rosehip Oils that hydrate the skin, as well as Aloe Vera extract to soothe any irritation and Biosaccharides derived from Cane Sugar to revitalize and mend the appearance of UV damage. This lotion even minimizes your pores and balances sebum levels, thanks to an inclusion of Mayblossom. Use it night and day". Weird that GA says that it can be used at night as well, when in the name of the cream, it says "day cream". But it doesn't matter. Overall, a good cream, but not for every skin type.
