Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum (full size 15ml for $85)
Oh mama, I didn't know it was that expensive. Weirdly, Murad says it can be used day and night, but I still stick to "night only". I did not get any adverse reaction from the product, but having been using it for 1.5 months, still not fully sure if I see any improvement.
Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ (30ml for $65)
Have you ever put a condom on your face? I haven't, personally, but I can imagine that it feels slightly weird and ewww. But that's beside the point. I find this product weird. Although the name suggests it's an SPF, when you go onto Murad's website, it's more marketed as a primer -- and it's not a surprise, after all, like @thatskincarebinch says, "it feels like pure silicone". That feeling is true -- but that's because it IS pure silicone (with some added stuff). It's basically a silicone primer with SPF -- woohoo, let's put "Murad" on it and charge $65! There are some positives: it doesn't leave a white cast and smoothes (mattifies) the face. That's about it. As a primer, I don't really see how it's different to Smashbox. As an SPF, it would definitely not be my first, second or third choice (although the actual protection from the sun does exist, can't complain there). SPF 30 is clearly not enough for most people in the summer, though. Overall, I am not a big fan, especially at such a price point.
Murad AHA BHA Exfoliatiating Cleanser (full size 200ml for £38)
This product contains Glycolic acid; Lactic acid; Salicylic Acid; together with softer Jojoba beads-- which gives both a chemical and physical exfoliation. The product itself is of a milky creamy consistency. I took it with me on my work trip down south-- I used it both day and night, which was indeed a mistake. If you read some comments, you can see that some people say that it is gentle enough to be used daily. No. It is not. You should not exfoliate your face more than 3 times a week, unless you actually want to do more damage than good. After those two days, I could feel my face being drier-- a definite sign of over-exfoliation. Murad themselves say to only use it a few times a week-- listen to Murad. I will say that this is very good cleanser-- especially for oily skins. Dry skins should really use it more seldom. I will not buy the full size, however. If I want to chemically or physically exfoliate my face, I do it properly-- not with a cleanser of this sort.
