Summer Fridays R+R Mask (64g for £46)

Alright. Time to spill the tea. This mask is of thick jelly consistency (transparent) made out of natural oils (predominantly seed oils). They also added sugar particles, for which this mask receives a significant downgrade from me and will never be recommended to anyone nor repurchased by me. Let me clarify: physical exfoliation has of course the right to exist-- however, I often advise against it as people like to over-exfoliate and create micro-tears in the skin. Upon examination of the sucrose particles/bits in the R+R mask, I strongly would advise against the use of this product all together. The particles are all of different size and shape, and often, they are sharp too! Well done, Summer Fridays, for creating a potentially very hazardous mask! If we move past that, the mask is just oil. Like, go make an oil cocktail of all different facial oils you have and slather it on for 10min -- then wash off. Effect will be the same as with this mask. Yes, skin will feel nice, but is it really something "oh so novel and exciting"? Definitely not.

Summer Fridays Jetlag Mask ($48 for full size)

I know, I know, I am bit late to the party. Or, very late. Oh well, please excuse us. This mask has been raved and raved and raved about. The brand says the following about it "this uber-dewy, hydrating mask soothes thirsty, stressed-out skin by steeping cells in a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gently exfoliating extracts. Skin looks instantly renewed, radiant and ready for anything!" The mask is a thicker cream-- but after 20 min, it virtually disappears into the skin. They say that you don't have to wash it off-- but I still do. Yes, the skin does feel very nourished afterwards. I will continue using it-- maybe it will become my absolute holy grail. There is a possibility of that, at least. We will see.
