Fresh Brand Overview: The Power of Fresh
I will tell you how I see it: Fresh is highly overrated, overpriced and quite mediocre. But it still draws so many people into its charm -- I find it astonishing. Maybe it's the cute, often pink packaging, maybe it's the rose scent and the petals. I am not big on the prettiness, to be honest. Sure, I can appreciate it, but honestly, I want the product to be good and relatively affordable.
My journey started with the Fresh Rose Petal toner. Everyone was raving about it, so I got onto the hype train. I can definitely tell you that my ¨first impression wasn't WOW. It was more...wtf....why did I pay so much for a product that doesn't even properly come out of the bottle because the damn rose petals are blocking the hole? Yes, the toner was hydrating, but definitely not worth a whopping 34 Pounds.
The next purchase was the Superberry Cleansing Oil -- another 34 Pounds that could have been better spent. Seriously, I have no problem with the product, but there are similar oils out there that cost less than 20 Pounds (or even less than 15).
The masks -- yes, the Rose Petal Mask is very nice. But there is a cheaper Korean dupe. The Vitamin mask -- again, a better Korean dupe. Umbrian clay mask didn't even have to exist. The moisturisers are okay, but still nothing special to warrant the price. The lip products -- again, 20 Pounds (or more) for a lip balm feels like someone is committing a crime against humanity.
There is one product that I respect: the Black Tea instant perfecting mask. But this one doesn't come cheap either. It's 77 Pounds for 100ml...for a mask.
Overall, I feel this brand could have had the true wow factor for me if Korean skincare didn't exist. But it does exist, and I cannot ignore the fact that I can get similar products for a fraction of the price without compromising on quality. It's quite sad really. I feel like this brand is great for people who have a good disposible income and who don't have high expectations and/or previous skincare experience. But for those who cannot afford to waste money on mediocre products, this one is probably not for you.
