Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer (full size 60ml for £36, 20ml size also available)
I was ready to hate it. First up, it's Glow Recipe-- a brand that is a hit or miss (not like Herbivore that tends to be more a miss). Secondly, it's designed for combination to oily skins -- a skin type that I only have 10 days per month max. Let's get down to results. Even when my skin was drier, I didn't feel this product was "not enough" for me in the mornings. Surprisingly. It feels quite nice and hydrating, largely due to it's watery-gel consistency. But the inci list is not too bad either, with watermelon extract, hyaluronic acid and amino acids. I would still recommend this product predominantly for summer months, however.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist (75ml for $28)
I am not a "misty" person, in all fairness, but I have zero regrets from buying this product. I absolutely love the ultra fineness of the mist -- you don't feel soaked, but hydrated. You need to shake it before use as it is a Bi-phase product (i.e. consists of both water and oils). Yes, this might not be the cheapest option, but it's definitely a good product.
Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum (30ml for $49)
Here we are-- finally. Time to spill the tea. Beautiful packaging, isn't it? I must give it to the brand, they really created a bottle that catches the eye. The product is cruelty free, vegan, gluten free. And that's where the real positives end. This is the brand's claim: "Glowing, glass skin starts with a bright, smooth, and translucent complexion so reflective, skin appears like glass. This bouncy, lightweight serum will do just that with three potent forms of antioxidant-rich vitamin C including 22% Pineapple Juice (one of the most powerful forms of natural vitamin C), pure Ascorbic acid, and stable 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic acid to combat acne scars, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation leaving skin glossy and even. The natural AHAs and Bromelain Enzymes from pineapple gently exfoliate while the built-in skin soothers (chamomile and aloe) ensure that skin stays happy and refreshed". Not sure, maybe Glow Recipe wrote this description for another product, and accidentally used it for this one? Reality: no glass skin. The serum is average in its brightening qualities. It's thicker, probably due to the added silicones. Exfoliation? Nothing impressive. But the worst part is the smell: to me, it smells like dried mushrooms (which I am okay with in a pasta dish, but not in a serum)! The scent is strong. Basically, you are paying almost $50 for a cute, instagrammable packaging, and an average content inside. You know the product is meh when even your own mom doesn't want to "steal" it. Better buy the Volition Strawberry-C-- that product is a true pleasure to use!
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask ($45 for 80ml)
So many of you wanted me to publish my thoughts on this product next, and since I do not cave under peer pressure... Here it is! 😅 This mask has literally been mentioned by everyone, and since I do not like buying products because they are currently trending... Here it is! 😌 The more a product is hyped about, the more critical my assessment is. So, what is this gooey pinky substance? Well, it is a night mask-- a product that you put after your serums. I have dry skin, so I put the night mask in layers. One coat, then let it dry, then another coat. 2-3 coats is enough. If you have oily skin, you don't need multiple layers. The product contains watermelon extract, hyaluronic acid, AHA. Due to its exfoliatiating properties, I only use this mask twice a week (otherwise-- over-exfoliation might happen, and you would not want that). My skin has been picky last week and this-- "hormones". But this mask did do it's job very well. In the morning, no new blemishes appeared and older ones significantly soothes. There is one important bit, however: you should not rub in the mask in circular motion-- you really need to pat it in. Otherwise, the product will start flaking and rolling up! So, overall, the mask is good and does deserve it's place on the market.
