Babor Thermal Toning Essence (200ml for $25)

A simple thermal spring water toner for hydration and calming of the skin. Alcohol-free, and hence suitable for sensitive skins. Has aloe in it to help calm the skin. I have no complaints about this toner, but like any watery toner it delivers on hydration. I didn't particularly feel any calming effects (but then again, my skin is pretty calm). I love Babor, but I find this product too simple for what the brand stands for.

My favourite eye makeup remover: Babor Eye Makeup Remover.

It is of watery consistency, but removes eye makeup perfectly. Put on a cotton pad. A mild oil-free remover that doesn't irritate my eyes (as some other removers do). 100ml bottle. May slightly leak through the nozzle if you travel with it so make sure to "close" the nozzle by turning it to the left.

Babor Lip Repair Balm ($12.95)

You know, we love Babor products. They are really done with a German quality standard in mind. However, even the best of brands have fails. This is the one from Babor. Babor describes the product in the following way: "moisturizing treatment for dry, chapped lips. Shea Butter strengthens the skin’s protective barriers, while Aloe Vera, Sunflower Oil and natural waxes Candelilla and Carnauba condition the delicate lip area, leaving it soft and supple. Additional active ingredients: Coconut oil, Bisabolol, Beeswax". It is not a bad lip balm, but it is not that great and we expect more from Babor. It is not richly moisturizing. Would recommend? No, we will not repurchase. We will continue using our Rituals one.

Babor Hydra Plus ampoules (7*2ml)

Retails for $30. Up to 14 uses (as we divide each 2ml ampoule for 2 uses). Babor describes it as a "complex containing Hyaluronic Acid and a plant-based moisturizer [which] help supply skin with intense hydration. Deeply hydrates the skin, leaving you with a refreshed and visibly vitalized looking complexion". With Hyaluronic Acid, Pentavitin, Bio-Glycerin, and Polymer Moisturizer. We use this at the "Essence" stage of our skincare routine. The skin feels very hydrated upon application. Although it is pricey, consider using it more as a treatment, rather than an everyday product. It's a hydration booster, and a really good one too.

Babor Microsilver Concentrate Ampoules

According to Babor, this is "an intensive facial concentrate containing microsilver, and the active cosmetic ingredients Neuroxyl and Dexpanthenol, which provide soothing moisturization to extremely dry, very sensitive and irritated skin. Can also be used to care for skin affected by neurodermatitis, atopic eczema in the symptom-free phase. Formulated without fragrances and artificial colorants". These ampoules (7*2ml) do cost $50. They can also be used for acne-prevention. We always get 2 uses out of an ampoule (although you are not supposed). If you suffering from the above mentioned skin conditions, please try it out.

Babor Youth Control Bi-phase Ampoules (7*1ml)

The price for these ampoules, surprisingly, varies a lot, but we bought ours for around $55. This is essentially a serum-in-oil ampoule: it combines the active power of a serum with the richly moisturizing properties of plant oils. Helps against wrinkles and with loss of skin elasticity. Good at stimulating collagen production, and protecting against environmental damage. We personally haven't seen much of an effect yet, but we will keep on using.

Babor Perfect Glow Ampoules (7*2ml, $40)

This is booster for those days when your skin/face feels dull. According to Babor, the ampoule "thoroughly hydrates the skin, while light-reflecting luminizing pigments create a youthful looking glow and help to even out skin tone. With regular use, PerfectionPeptide P3 helps promote natural skin rejuvenation. Helps to even out irregularities in skin tone, provide intensive moisture, and give the complexion a luminous, smooth, youthful and radiant glow". Again, as always, we use each ampoule twice. We prefer to use it in the mornings, right after an essence.

Babor Beauty Rescue Ampoules (7*2ml)

Are you stressed and tired? Is it taking a toll on your face? Well, then these are the ampoules for you. Innovative, fast-absorbing and highly effective, each serum-based ampoule works to strengthen three vital functions of the skin: the hydrolipid barrier, immune system and moisture storage. Stimulating healthy skin renewal, the booster revitalises the complexion for restored radiance and vitality. Your skin will appear healthier and more hydrated. Of course, relaxing through meditation, sleep and a holiday can work too!

Babor Hydro Cellular 3D Hydro Gel Eye Pads (4 packets for ahem..ca. $60, although we have seen a price of $29 on one US site)

With Hyaluronic Acid and Hexapeptide-8. Supposed to: help provide cooling and refreshing sensations help visibly relax and smooth the eye area help provide intensive fresh moisture help fill wrinkles and lines from the inside out help perfectly mold to the eye contours for maximum skincare benefits These are super thick eye patches. But they don't slide off as they are not soaked in any liquid. Honestly, I didn't feel any hydration from them. However, you get a cooling, firming and smoothing effect from them for sure. For that price, we will pass, thank you.

Babor Active Night Ampoules (7*2ml, costing $40)

"Salix Nigra Bark Extract, Algae and Truffle work effectively during the deep-sleep phase to help promote a more rejuvenated appearance and counteract visible signs of skin aging while you sleep. Activates the skin's own natural nighttime renewal processes and supports rejuvenation of the skin while you sleep resulting in visibly revitalized skin in the morning", this is what Babor says about these ampoules. What we can say is that these ampoules helped us during our acne prone stage-- they have helped to decrease the redness and make skin look healthier.

Babor Oxygen Foam Cleansing Mask (3 pack for $21)

According to Babor, "this detoxifying sheet mask generates bubbles to remove dirt, old skin cells and excess oil revealing a brighter looking complexion. Deeply cleanses and unclogs pores for fresher, smoother looking skin" Unlike its counterpart from Rodial, this mask does not generate that many bubbles. It's a thin layer of bubbles. But that doesn't matter, when the mask actually does what it promises to do. And it really does. The face feels hydrated, but super cleansed. Like I said before, this week was our acne-week, and this mask performed beautifully to stop further outbreaks and soothe the existing ones.

Babor HYDRO RX Hyaluron Cream ($79)

Yes, it is expensive. It is a very light gel-cream. But but... It's actually very good. Ours is of course a bigger sample size (we have 2 tubs, so we will probably get 20 uses out of in total, which is actually amazing, considering we got them for free). This cream contains HY-3 Peptides along with a unique combination of low, medium and high-molecular hyaluronic acid plus natural Biopolymers. All work together to help improve the skin's ability to store moisture for hydrated and smooth looking skin. And somehow, you feel it upon application. When you massage the cream in, it becoming more liquid-y, but not in a bad way-- in a way as if your skin was being tanked up with water. Interesting feeling. Although light, it works beautifully on my skin. We may purchase the full size once the small ones run out.
